Enrolments for 2010
In keeping with departmental requirements, preference for enrolment will be given to those students currently living with the parent or legal guardian within the school's enrolment area. The school's enrolment panel will meet early in Term 2 to consider enrolment applications for Year 7 students in 2010. As part of this process, all in-area enrolments and those where siblings are currently enrolled at the school will be automatically accepted and confirmed.
All out-of-area applications will be considered and evaluated on the basis of the following criteria:
Documentation Requirements for Out-of-Area Applications: As a result of the school's additional Selective Classes from 2010, out-of-area enrolments will primarily be limited to siblings of current students. Students currently enrolled in Year 6 at non-government primary schools who seek enrolment in Year 7 for 2010, and for all students applying for enrolment in Years 8-12 for 2010, the following documentation must be provided with the enrolment application:
For students enrolling in Years 8-12, the half yearly and/or yearly school report from the school attended in 2009 (plus School Certificate results, Preliminary Course Record of Achievement or HSC for enrolment applications for Years 10, 11 or 12). Only after all in-area enrolments have been processed, and after all returning students have been allocated to courses, will it be possible to confirm acceptance of any out-of-area enrolments for students enrolling in Years 8 to 12.
Note: Overseas students also require Passport and/or Visa details and may need to contact the Fairfield District Office (Ph. 9793 4900) prior to seeking enrolment at this school.
Enrolment Agreement: It is most important that all prospective students, and their parents, fully understand that the wearing of FULL school uniform is COMPULSORY at Prairiewood High School. This policy has the unanimous support of the School Council and Parents and Citizens' Association, and is fully endorsed by the Department of Education and Training.
Enrolment at this school requires parent and student acceptance of this important school policy, as well as complete support for the school's Student Welfare and Discipline policy and a commitment to the payment of annual school fees and charges. Payment of all school/subject/sport fees at enrolment is, if accepted, a condition of enrolment for ALL "out-of-area" enrolling students.
